Science programme organiser: Paul Berrisford, NCAS Centre for Global Atmospheric Modelling, U. of Reading.

Conference details

This year's UGAMP annual conference will be held at Oxford University from Wednesday 8th September to Friday 10th September.

All lectures will be held in the Martin Wood Lecture Theatre in the University Physics Department.

Accommodation will be provided at Lady Margaret Hall. Please give details of your arrival and departure dates when registering. We plan to start at 10-45am on the Wednesday morning, so please consider whether you will need to travel to Oxford the night before.

The Physics Department is a short walk across university parks from Lady Margaret Hall (see Lady Margaret Hall (no. 16) and the University science area on a map of Oxford).

Other local arrangements will be described on this page as soon as we have the relevant information.

Expenses

The cost of the UGAMP meeting, travel, accommodation, conference dinner and other meals will be met by the NCAS Centre for Global Atmospheric Modelling (CGAM), Reading, for all eligible UGAMP and UGAMP-affiliated researchers/students. As a guide, funds up to a maximum of £20 per day (on average) are available to cover meals (excluding the conference dinner).

Expense claim forms can be obtained from Kathy Maskell. Please attach travel and meal receipts to your claim. A photocopy of a group dinner bill is also acceptable.

Please return the forms to Kathy (not to Reading Finance Office) at the following address: Kathy Maskell, CGAM, Dept. of Meteorology, University of Reading, Earley Gate, PO Box 243, Reading RG6 6BB.

Registration and Call for Abstracts

Please register and submit your abstract on-line.

The programme will include all recent UGAMP funded and allied research, covering atmospheric and coupled modelling, theoretical studies and diagnostic studies using observational data.

The deadline for registration and submission of abstracts is 16th July.

Accommodation

Accommodation during the conference will be provided at Lady Margaret Hall.

Requests for accommodation should be stated when registering.

Conference Dinner

The conference dinner will be held on Thursday 9th September at Lady Margaret Hall. If you have any special dietary requirements (e.g. vegetarian), please mention this when registering. Dress smart casual.

More details will be available nearer the date of the conference.

Travel

We strongly suggest travelling to the conference via public transport. There is very little on-site parking space available at Lady Margaret Hall or at the Physics Department.

A coach will be arranged for those travelling from Reading.
